A group of 21 students accompanied by professor Julieth Quiñones, from the International Business Management and Business Administration programs embarked on an academic mission to Barranquilla and Cartagena from March 4 to March 9. The week-long excursion was marked by insightful visits to various prominent companies, and institutions providing invaluable real-world insights into their operations.
In Barranquilla, the group toured Steckerl Aceros and Zona Franca Parque Central, gaining firsthand exposure to industrial processes and management practices. Additionally, visits to shipyards Cotecmar and Ferroalquimar offered a glimpse into maritime industries' intricacies. A notable highlight was the excursion to the Navy Base ARC Bolivar, where the group boarded the "20 de Julio" ship, fostering a deeper understanding of Colombia's security and defense mechanisms.
The academic journey continued in Cartagena with an engaging session at the Universidad de la Costa, where the professor elucidated ongoing research projects within the faculty of Business and Accounting Sciences. Further enriching their experience, the group visited the Financial Observatory and received a comprehensive briefing from a representative of Invest In Cartagena.
